Polyethylene pipes are used for distribution of gas, with pressures up to PN 10 bar.
Materials
Polyethylene gas pipes are made of PE80 and PE100 materials.
The tags MDPE and HDPE were mostly used for PE 80 material.
High performance PE100-polyethilene is a material with greater density compared to PE80, and has high resistance to rapid expansion of cracks, as well as long-term resistance to cracks from impact.
The high performances of the material allow the pipes made of it to have thinner walls compared to those made of PE80, when the same working pressure is in question.
